Registering Vehicles in Wyoming Temporary Workers – 90 days or less Non-Resident employees may apply for a “temporary worker” permit if employed in the State of Wyoming for 90 days or less. * Present valid registration to County Treasurer * $35.00 Charge * 90 Days begins from date of purchase of permit May purchase only one in a 12 month period. Do not need proof of liability insurance. Place decal inside lower left windshield. Commercial vehicles are not eligible for permit. Full Time Workers Wyoming Statutes: Every owner of a vehicle shall apply for registration & license plates for the vehicle at becoming a resident or employed in this state. * Present title or current registration from previous jurisdiction to Goshen County Clerk to purchase Wyoming title. Contact # (307) 532-4051 * When surrendering a title from previous jurisdiction a Vehicle Identification Inspection by local law enforcement is required. * Present Wyoming title & current registration from previous jurisdiction to Goshen County Treasurer to purchase registration & license plates * All pickup, trucks and trailers must be weighed prior to registration – unladen weight is required to compute fees and taxes. * Passenger vehicle means a motor vehicle designed to carry ten (10) persons or less & primarily used to transport persons. No weight is required to register these vehicles. * Motorcycle means every motor vehicle having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider & designed to travel on not more than three (3) wheels in contact with the ground. Proof of liability insurance is required by Wyoming Statutes when registering motor vehicles. SPECIAL NOTE: Wyoming has reciprocity agreements with: * New Mexico * Illinois * Idaho * Nebraska Residents of these states who are working in Wyoming do not need to register their vehicle in Wyoming if it is properly registered or licensed in the state where the operator of such motor vehicle is used has a principle place of residence. New Purchase If while working in Wyoming a new vehicle is purchased please contact the Goshen County Treasurer’s Office for details to register vehicle. W.S. 1-1-115 Civil liability for unpaid checks: Any person who issues a check which is not paid because the check has been dishonored for any reason will be subject to a collection fee of $30.00. |
